Big Thief will release their sixth studio album, Double Infinity, on 5 September 2025. The album follows their Grammy-nominated 2022 release, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You. Recorded over three weeks at Power Station in New York City, the band embraced a collaborative and improvisational process, cycling between Brooklyn and Manhattan during winter to record in the studio's warm wood-panelled room. Alongside a community of musicians including Alena Spanger, Caleb Michel, Hannah Cohen, Jon Nellen, Joshua Crumbly, June McDoom, Laraaji, Mikel Patrick Avery, and Mikey Buishas, Big Thief tracked the album live—playing simultaneously and making collective discoveries. Produced, engineered, and mixed by longtime collaborator Dom Monks, Double Infinity reflects a deep engagement with presence, aging, and transformation. Adrianne Lenker's lyrical meditation on time and beauty—"Let gravity be my sculptor, let the wind do my hair"—captures the album’s spirit of embracing life’s mysteries.
