Before Brenda Lee took over as the Queen Of Nashville Pop, Sue Thompson forged an estimable run of Billboard and Cashbox chart hits, mostly penned by Music City songwriting legends John D Loudermilk and/or husband and wife team Felice and Boudleaux Bryant. All are featured in this collection, along with the best of her album cuts and later 45s ? several of which are now highly prized by collectors of girl group recordings. Although not as big in the UK (where all of her hits were covered by local singer Carol Deene) as she was in the US and Europe; Suzie is well remembered here for her big pirate radio hit ?Paper Tiger?, and for her visits here in the 70s after she had reinvented and established herself as a solid country singer.
