The Last Hundred Yard Vol. 3: The Solomon Islands is a game that focuses on the intense and brutal Solomon Islands Campaign of World War II. This campaign was fought to control the islands of Guadalcanal, Bougainville, and New Georgia, and involved some of the fiercest small-unit actions in the Pacific Theater. The game will feature the 1st (The Old Breed) and 3rd (Fighting Third) Marine Divisions, as well as the Army's 25th Infantry Division (Tropic Lightning), as they fight against Japanese forces in the jungle. Players will be able to take part in a range of missions, including the 1st Marine Division's fight for Henderson Airfield on Guadalcanal, the 3rd Marine Division's efforts to hold and expand the beachhead on Bougainville Island, and the 25th Infantry Division's 27th Regiment (Wolfhounds) as they fight for control of Galloping Horse Ridge and the airfield on New Georgia. This volume introduces new weapons and terrain, including flamethrowers, anti-tank half-tracks, and different types of the jungle. Each mission will provide new challenges and situations, making this volume an exciting and intense addition to The Last Hundred Yard Series.
