Das aus Los Angeles stammende Psych-Soul-Viertel Chicano Batman hat heute Invisible People angekündigt, das am 1. Mai über Ato Records erscheinen wird. Der Nachfolger des von der Kritik gefeierten „Freedom is Free“ aus dem Jahr 2017 ist auch klanglich vielfältigster und zusammenhängender. Die Platte ist ein Ausdruck der Hoffnung, eine Proklamation, dass wir alle unsichtbare Menschen sind und dass wir unabhängig von Rasse, Klasse oder Geschlecht unsere Unterschiede überwinden und zusammenstehen können. Für das Album arbeitete die Band mit Shawn Everett zusammen, dem Grammy-preisgekrönten Mischtechniker, der für seine Arbeit mit Alabama Shakes, War on Drugs, Kacey Musgraves und Julian Casablancas bekannt ist. Unter der Leitung von Leon Michels (Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Lee Fields & The Expressions) als Produzent und Everetts Mixing, der die Richtung des Albums vorgab, hat sich der üppige Tropicalia-angehauchte Sound der Band in ihren ausgefeiltesten und dichtesten Layering-Sound verwandelt. „Invisible People“ ist eine erhellende und fesselnde Klanglandschaft, die nicht die Essenz verloren hat, die Chicano Batman auf die Landkarte gebracht hat.

Since 1st July 2021, all goods imported into the EU with a value of up to €150 are subject to VAT. No additional VAT fees should be paid for the delivery of parcels in Europe under €150.
