„Der amerikanische Sportler Johnny Regan (Robert Stack, Written on the Wind) geht während seines Urlaubs in Mexiko zu einem Stierkampf und wird Zeuge des großen Matadors Manolo Estrada (Gilbert Roland, She Done Him Wrong) in Aktion. Die beiden Männer treffen sich später am Abend und Johnny ist fasziniert von Anita (Joy Page, Casablanca), einer Freundin von Manolo. Johnny ist von der Welt des Stierkampfs beeindruckt und möchte Anita beeindrucken. Er wird Manolos Schüler, damit auch er ein Torero-Champion werden kann.
Bullfighter and the Lady wurde von John Wayne produziert und basiert teilweise auf Budd Boettichers Erfahrungen als unerfahrener Stierkämpfer. Er erschien zunächst in einer kürzeren 87-minütigen Fassung, die angeblich von John Ford bearbeitet wurde. 1986 wurde mit Hilfe von Boetticher und Stack die komplette 124-minütige Fassung restauriert, was den Film zu einem wahren Meisterwerk machte. Beide Schnitte werden in dieser Ausgabe zusammen mit Boettichers letztem Werk als Regisseur, dem Dokumentarfilm My Kingdom For… aus dem Jahr 1985, präsentiert, der teils Autobiografie, teils Geschichte der Stierkampfkunst von Rejoneo ist.
