Giordano: Marina

Experience the world premiere recording of Umberto Giordano's one-act opera, Marina, captured live at Milan's historic Teatro dal Verme in February 2026. Composed by a 21-year-old Giordano in 1888, this work predates his more famous 'Andrea Chénier' and stands as a powerful example of the verismo style. The opera's compelling plot weaves a tale of love tragically disrupted by the ravages of war.

This landmark recording features a stellar cast including Eleonora Buratto and Freddie De Tommaso, alongside the Coro del Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari and Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali, conducted by Vincenzo Milletar. The performance brings to life a significant, yet often overlooked, piece from the Italian operatic repertoire.
