SLIFT - Fantasia [audioCD]

SLIFT - Fantasia [CD]

Experience Fantasia, the fourth and most direct album from the radiant and heavy French trio SLIFT. Known for their previous work weaving complex genres into sprawling instrumental journeys, this record offers a more concise and riveting saga about overcoming international upheaval. SLIFT—comprised of Jean, bassist Rémi Fossat, and drummer Canek Flores—deliver a tight set of lean, agile, and punchy songs, marking a decade together as a band.

Key Album Highlights

• The band’s leanest and most direct record to date, following the acclaimed 2024 album Ilion.
• Features influences evoking Clutch, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Pink Floyd, and Master of Reality-era Sabbath.
• The sonic tapestry was skillfully mixed by Kurt Ballou (known for work with Converge, Cave In, High on Fire).
• The songs maintain the complexity and intensity SLIFT is known for, presented in a newly focused structure.

Creative Process

Unlike previous explorations, the songs on Fantasia were built differently. Jean initiated many tracks individually before bringing them to basement rehearsals near Toulouse, resulting in a tight set recorded in the enormous live room at Daft Studios in Belgium.
