Sludgeworth - Second Time Around

Emerging from the vibrant Chicago underground scene of the 1980s, Sludgeworth's 'Second Time Around' is a testament to enduring friendship and creative resurgence. This 12-song LP captures the raw energy and genre-bending spirit that defined their early days, reminiscent of legendary acts like Raygun, Albini, and Ministry. After decades dormant, a reunion and Riot Fest performance sparked a new chapter, leading to frequent creative sessions that birthed this distinctive sound, feeling equally at home in 1989 or 2029.

Midwest Underground Legacy:

Sludgeworth solidified their place as paragons of the Midwest underground with their earlier releases on Lookout Records. 'Second Time Around' adds another significant chapter to their storied history, showcasing a band that not only reunited but chose to continue creating, a rare feat after a 30+ year gap between albums.

Creative Process:

The album is the direct result of the band members reconnecting in a Chicago practice space, fostering a creative environment fueled by camaraderie and a shared passion for music. This organic process imbues the record with an authentic and timeless quality.
