The Action - Rolled Gold (2026 Remaster) [CD]

Discover the definitive edition of The Action's pivotal 1967-1968 demo recordings, presented here as the Rolled Gold (2026 Remaster) CD. This collection captures the crucial period when the band transitioned from their George Martin-produced mod-soul singles to the foundations of their evolution into Mighty Baby. After releasing five critically acclaimed but commercially unsuccessful singles on Parlophone, The Action embraced original songwriting, drawing inspiration from The Byrds and West Coast psychedelia, with subtle influences from Coltrane's modal jazz.

This newly remastered edition, expertly handled by Prof. Stoned from the best available sources, features the expanded lineup that foreshadowed Mighty Baby, including multi-instrumentalist Ian Whiteman and guitarist Martin Stone (formerly of Savoy Brown). The CD comes in a limited pressing Digipak format, complete with an illustrated 12-page booklet, offering a comprehensive look into this significant era of psychedelic rock.
