Description
Time Out is an album by Dave Brubeck, featuring experimental rhythms for listeners interested in distinctive, unconventional music. It is a single-disc release, and its standout song is Paul Desmond’s “Take Five”.
Brubeck, Desmond and the other group members explored time signatures beyond the usual 4/4 beat and 3/4 waltz, helping make this experimental album an unexpected hit.
Most of the songs were composed by Brubeck. “Take Five”, composed by Desmond, became the quartet’s most celebrated tune.
