Description

This seven-CD box set brings together Pentangle’s albums released between 1968 and 1972, with bonus material. It’s for listeners exploring the band’s folk-rock catalogue and its blend of folk, jazz and underground music.

Pentangle formed in 1968, bringing together the songwriting and guitar talents of Bert Jansch and John Renbourn with Danny Thompson, Terry Cox and Jacqui McShee. Their debut, The Pentangle, was hailed as a folk-rock classic, while Basket of Light became their most commercially successful album.

The set covers six albums, from The Pentangle and the live-and-studio double album Sweet Child to Solomon’s Seal, the original line-up’s final album. The expanded albums include out-takes, live tracks and selections from contemporaneous solo albums by Jansch and Renbourn; Basket of Light features ‘Light Flight’, the theme to the TV series Take Three Girls.
