Description
Brandi Carlile’s The Story is a roots-influenced album for listeners drawn to expressive vocals and original songs. Produced by T Bone Burnett, it was recorded live without overdubs, giving its ballads and midtempo rock songs a direct, full-bodied sound.
Country and folk touches colour “Have You Ever” and the acoustic “Cannonball”, while “Until I Die”, “Late Morning Lullaby” and “My Song” bring sweeping drama. Carlile’s confident songwriting and distinctive voice are at the heart of the album.
