Description

This CD brings together Mozart’s complete flute quartets, performed by Anna Besson and her fellow contributors. It includes Hoffmeister’s arrangement of Mozart’s Sonata K311, alongside quartets K. 285, K. 285a and K. 285b.

The quartets have a place in Anna Besson’s musical story: she performed them on tour at the age of fifteen. Mozart composed K. 285 and K. 285a in Mannheim in 1777–78, while K. 285b was likely composed in Vienna in 1786–87.

Besson also chose Hoffmeister’s arrangement for the beauty of its central movement and its delicate redistribution of the keyboard parts between flute and strings. The recording features Anna Besson, A Nocte Temporis, Louis Creac’h, Manuela Bucher and Ronan Kernoa.
