Description
Isabela is a vinyl LP by saxophonist Oded Tzur, featuring his quartet with pianist Nitai Hershkovits, double bassist Petros Klampanis and drummer Johnathan Blake. It’s for listeners drawn to expressive jazz, combining quiet meditations with powerful crescendos.
Tzur threads one musical idea through a suite-like sequence, exploring the nuances and colours of his self-fashioned raga. The quartet’s interplay brings a heightened intensity to this second ECM release.
Recorded at Lugano’s Auditorio Stelio Molo in September 2021, the session was produced by Manfred Eicher.
