Description
Dopamine Chamber is the fifth studio album by Fontaines D.C., presented here on CD. Produced by James Ford, it follows the band’s 2024 album Romance.
The album marks a decisive shift from the guitar sound of Fontaines D.C.’s early records, bringing together cold synthesiser tones, marching drums, samples and triggers, with several songs featuring no guitars.
Moving between pleasure and dread, the record explores artificial intelligence, environmental collapse and political violence. Its sound also draws on the swooning strings of 1960s Italian pop, reshaped into something synthetic.
