Candlemass - Dactylis Glomerata

Experience the stellar doom rock opus from Swedish legends Candlemass with this newly remastered edition of their 1998 album, 'Dactylis Glomerata'. Presented on limited pearl arctic vinyl, this release offers a fresh take on a pivotal moment in the band's four-decade history.

Album Significance:
'Dactylis Glomerata' marked a significant comeback for Candlemass, originally released after a hiatus following their 'Chapter VI' album. This record delves into a more stripped-down, dirty doom rock sound, characterized by solid songwriting and a distinct stoner vibe, incorporating hard rock elements. This stylistic shift contrasted with their earlier, more epic heavy metal compositions, showcasing the band's evolving artistry. The album has stood the test of time, remaining a gem in Candlemass's extensive discography.

Notable Contributions:
This album features the distinctive guitar work of Michael Amott, known for his involvement with Arch Enemy and Carcass. Additionally, Ian Haugland from Europe makes a guest appearance, adding further depth to the recording.

Remastered for Modern Listening:
This edition boasts newly band-approved remastered audio, meticulously handled by Patrick Engel at Temple of Disharmony, ensuring a superior listening experience for fans of heavy and doom metal.

About Candlemass:
Formed in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1984 by bassist and songwriter Leif Edling, Candlemass is renowned for pioneering epic doom metal. Their enduring legacy and influence on subsequent generations of doom and heavy metal bands, from My Dying Bride to Paradise Lost, solidify their status as genre leaders. The band themselves drew significant inspiration from the foundational sounds of Black Sabbath.
