Description

City Burials is Katatonia’s eleventh studio album, presented here as a 140-gram double-vinyl edition. It includes the bonus track “Closing of the Sky” and a lyric etching on side D.

Katatonia bring elements of their heavy metal roots into the album’s progressive rock, shaped by layered instrumentation and Jonas Renkse’s vocals. The record marks a new chapter for the Swedish band and was their first album made with guitarist Roger Öjersson as a full-time member.

Formed by Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström in 1991, Katatonia moved from the black, death and doom movement towards progressive metallic rock. “Closing of the Sky” is the named bonus track on this edition.
