Description
Ceiba is the second full-length album from international prog supergroup TEMIC, featuring current and former members of Devin Townsend, The Neal Morse Band, Haken and other groups. This two-disc vinyl release is for listeners drawn to progressive rock that combines heavy riffs, technical passages and melodic vocals.
Inspired by the Mayan sacred tree connecting earth, heaven and the underworld, the album explores mortality and loss. Its music moves between thunderous prog and more reflective moments, from the ghostly synths of “Broken” to the technical shifts and melodies of “Ceased To Be”.
“Ashes” pairs a succession of forceful riffs with a rousing chorus, while the ten-minute closer “As Long As We Last” builds towards an extended solo. Together, the songs mark a bold progression for the band after their debut album.
