Description
Appalachian Smoke is a CD album by Mountain Grass Unit, for listeners drawn to bluegrass and modern American roots music. It brings together the band's live energy and studio exploration on one disc.
Mountain Grass Unit honour bluegrass history while expanding its sound, combining stacked vocal harmonies, flat-picking and songwriting with influences from Grateful Dead cuts and rock & roll classics. The album marks a new chapter for the band as they commit to life on the road and build on their growing national following.
Produced by six-time Grammy winner Vance Powell, Appalachian Smoke explores bluegrass as a living musical language. Earlier releases named in the album description include Runnin' From Trouble and Places I've Been.
