Matt Berry Trio - Everything's Peachy

Acid Jazz proudly presents Everything's Peachy, the debut album from the Matt Berry Trio, featuring Matt Berry alongside band members Phill Scragg and Graham Mann. This release marks the second volume in the acclaimed Jazz Sessions series, showcasing a return to the label's jazz foundations.

Matt Berry, known for his indelible screen characters, delivers a remarkable and diverse musical offering with this studio-based, mid-century jazz adjacent trio. Everything's Peachy is a cohesive 12-part instrumental suite inspired by the American folk hero Richard “Beebo” Russell, known as ‘the Sky King,’ who famously stole an aircraft. The composition captures the chaos, nostalgia, regret, and acceptance associated with Russell’s flight, resulting in an open, freeform, and flowing musical experience.

The album draws significant influence from the electronic experiments pioneered by Miles Davis and the melancholic beauty of Satie, demonstrating the breadth of Matt Berry’s ever-moving musical mind.

This series was conceived by Acid Jazz founder Ed Piller to honor the label's jazz roots. Everything's Peachy follows the inaugural release from former Style Council drummer Steve White, Soul Drums, with further releases planned.
