deary - Birding [CD]

Birding is the debut album from deary, the London-based dreampop three-piece, presenting 11 tracks that showcase a definitive groove, moving between ocean-deep shoegaze riffs and ethereal indie sounds. The title reflects a sense of expansion, wonder, and abandon, while also drawing attention to the direct impact humans have on the world around us.

deary—comprised of Ben Easton, Dottie Cockram, and Harry Catchpole—evolves their sound on this release, featuring starker lyrics and heavier instrumentation compared to previous works. This album explores intense subjects, such as the opening track, 'Smile,' which addresses the announcement of a national epidemic of violence against women.

• Features 11 tracks spanning dreampop, shoegaze, and ethereal indie styles.
• Evolves the band's sound with heavier instrumentation and starker lyrical content.
• Includes the lead single 'Seabird,' propelled by Portishead-esque backbeats.
