Description

Happiness is The Beloved’s debut album, reissued as a special edition for listeners drawn to electronic pop shaped by the UK Acid House scene. It pairs a remaster made from the original analogue studio masters with bonus recordings from the band’s Wolf Studios sessions.

Jon Marsh and Steve Waddington fused British electronic pop with US club beats, Balearic influences and uplifting lyrics. The album was certified Gold in the UK, and its singles included “The Sun Rising”, “Hello” and “Your Love Takes Me Higher”.

The reissue includes new sleeve notes by the band and “The Wolf Studio Recordings”, a bonus collection of demos, B-sides, remixes and previously unreleased songs recorded between 1988 and 1990. It also features an unreleased remix of “The Sun Rising”, recorded for Mark Goodier’s Evening Session on Radio 1.
