Description

This CD presents Clear Light’s self-titled 1967 album in a remaster, with outtakes from the June 1967 sessions and additional recordings. It suits listeners exploring the band’s quirky songwriting and psychedelic arrangements, featuring sometime Doors bassist Doug Lubahn and future CSNY and Manassas drummer Dallas Taylor.

Produced by Paul Rothchild, the album was designed to showcase Clear Light’s double-drumkit sound. Its cult-classic status reflects the group’s distinctive blend of songwriting and psychedelic arrangement.

The expanded release adds “She’s Ready To Be Free” in mono and stereo, recently uncovered session outtakes and a rare single by Clear Light precursors the Brain Train. It also includes in-depth liner notes by biographer Gray Newell and rare illustrations.
