Description

A Short Break is a CD EP by Robert Wyatt, featuring intimate, contemplative recordings made at home in 1992. It is suited to listeners interested in Wyatt’s solo work and his musical sketches for piano, organ, percussion and voice.

Wyatt, the original drummer and vocalist for Soft Machine, performs all the instruments and vocals on this four-track recording. The music is a collection of half-formed ideas, melodies and atmospheres rather than conventional songs; “Unmasked” is the track noted as an outtake from Dondestan.

The CD also includes childhood photographs and a short essay by Wyatt.
