Kris Drever - Doing This For Love [Audio CD]

Kris Drever's latest album, Doing This For Love, marks a significant evolution from the traditional Scottish folk that first defined his career. This collection of ten songs moves toward something more personal and immediate, offering guitar-led meditations on the often-unseen heroism found in everyday life, such as early mornings and quiet sacrifices.

Recorded with a focus on sonic clarity and the energy of live performance, the album showcases Drever's ability to make deeply personal experiences feel universal. His masterful guitar work anchors every track, supported by sympathetic collaborators including Rachel Sermanni, Euan Burton, Cahalen Morrison, Louis Abbott (Admiral Fallow), and Matthew Herd (Seafarers).

Key Themes & Style

Doing This For Love honors the unglamorous work of care and the quiet dignity in daily commitments. Drever explores the idea that true love is often demonstrated through action—something done rather than merely felt.
