Nadine Trintignant directs her husband, Jean-Louis Trintignant, in Crime Thief (Le Voleur de crimes), a complex psychological drama examining obsession and alienation. When disaffected everyman Jean witnesses a young woman's suicide, he decides to anonymously claim he murdered her, leading him to abandon his family and descend into neurosis as fantasy and reality blur.

The film stars Jean-Louis Trintignant, Robert Hossein, Bernadette Lafont, and Giorgia Moll, with additional appearances by Florinda Bolkan and Serge Marquand. Directed by Nadine Trintignant.
