Weezer - Weezer (The Blue Album) [Audio CD]

Blending the best aspects of pop, punk and grunge, Weezer's eponymous debut came as a much-needed relief to the too-serious American indie scene of 1994. Produced and strongly influenced by former Cars frontman Ric Ocasek, this seminal release combines churning power-pop guitars, Beach Boys-inspired harmonies, and the introspective, awkward lyrics of singer-songwriter Rivers Cuomo. Widely known as "The Blue Album," it introduced the world to the concept of Geek Rock through standout tracks like "In The Garage" and "The World Has Turned And Left Me Here." The hit single "Buddy Holly," paired with its iconic Spike Jonze-directed video, propelled the album into the mainstream charts, while tracks like "Undone - The Sweater Song" remain defining anthems of 90s alternative rock.
