Lord Huron, the creative project of Los Angeles-based songwriter, musician, and visual artist Ben Schneider, unveils their 2025 album "The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1," a deeply atmospheric and conceptually rich work that explores fate, choice, and the ambiguity of meaning in life and music. Teased with the early 2025 singles "Who Laughs Last" and "Nothing I Need," the album culminates in the release of "Looking Back." Written and co-produced by Schneider, the album features the core band lineup of Tom Renaud, Mark Barry, and Miguel Briseño, alongside notable collaborators including actress Kristen Stewart and Kazu Makino of Blonde Redhead. The album's title and cover art reference a mysterious machine that poses philosophical questions: What if you could choose your fate like a song on a jukebox? What if you got the B-side by mistake? What if you misunderstood the song entirely?
