Based on Guy Burt's novel, this British horror-thriller follows three privileged students from an exclusive English boarding school who skip a field trip to hide in an underground bunker. Thora Birch stars as Liz, who joins the escapade hoping to connect with Mike Steel (Desmond Harrington), the school's American outsider. When they become trapped, the psychological tension escalates, but director Nick Hamm opts for fragmented flashbacks and contrived twists over sustained suspense, turning the premise into a drawn-out ordeal among unlikable characters. Despite its promising setup, the film fails to deliver the sharp wit or technical finesse of its American teen horror counterparts.
