Pixies - Bossanova [Vinyl]

Continuing the band’s 40th anniversary celebrations, Pixies are repressing their 1990 studio album, Bossanova, on black vinyl. This release features newly remastered audio, with engineer Kevin Vanbergen returning to the band’s original analogue tapes to deliver stunning new masters that reveal more layers to these beloved tracks.

Album Significance:

Bossanova is the third Pixies album, with the band continuing their collaboration with Gil Norton after their platinum-selling second album, Doolittle. Released in 1990, a particularly fertile year for the band, Bossanova showcased a less primal side, with surf and space rock elements rising to the fore. Lyrically, Black Francis delves into cryptic themes with a recurring sci-fi narrative, which inspired Vaughan Oliver’s classic planet design for the album's sleeve.

Key Tracks:

The album features the singles ‘Allison’, ‘Dig For Fire’, and ‘Velouria’, alongside ‘Cecilia Ann’, the first cover to feature on a Pixies album, originally by The Surftones.
