Description

Bevelini Butter Beans, also known as 'Gigantes' due to their large size, are a staple in Mediterranean cuisine. These giant beans are ideal for preparing traditional Greek dishes such as Gigantes Plaki, and can also be used in salads, stews, and other hearty recipes. A nutritious and versatile pulse, they offer a rich, creamy texture when cooked.

Preparation Instructions:
  • Do not eat raw.
  • Soak 100g of beans in 500ml of cold water for 12 hours or overnight.
  • Drain and rinse thoroughly.
  • Place soaked beans in a large saucepan with 500ml water.
  • Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 40 minutes until tender but slightly firm.
  • Drain, rinse, and use as required.

Note: All appliances vary; these are guidelines only. Ensure food is piping hot before serving.
