Colin MacIntyre explores deep themes of hope, empathy, and understanding, drawing profound inspiration from the literary world.

This unique project features lyrical contributions from a roster of world-leading, award-winning authors, each focusing on a single significant photograph that holds meaning for them. The resulting songs span the globe, tackling subjects from the impact of Gaza and 9/11 to personal tales rooted in locations like Inverness, Botswana, China, and Glasgow.

MacIntyre, an accomplished author himself, provides the musical platform for powerful lyrical content written in collaboration with the featured writers. Contributors include best-sellers and winners of the Pulitzer, Booker, Women's Prize, and Saltire Awards, such as Irvine Welsh, Ali Smith, Alexander McCall Smith, Paul Lynch, and Colum McCann. The album explores universal concepts including childhood, place, identity, memory, and family.

All songs were written by Colin MacIntyre and the contributing authors. The album was arranged and produced by Colin MacIntyre, and recorded on the Isle of Mull by Gordon Maclean. The sound is further enriched by a guest performance from the London African Gospel Choir.
