Open Mike Eagle & Kenny Segal - DOOMED! [CD]

DOOMED! is the debut full-length collaboration from the acclaimed duo of iconoclastic rapper Open Mike Eagle and innovative producer Kenny Segal. This 15-track album is described as the world's first half-whimsical break-up album, born from five years of shared experiences and distorted misunderstandings, presented as an absurdist black comedy mini-series on wax.

Los Angeles serves as a deep-rooted backdrop for DOOMED!, reflecting the journey of Mike and Kenny, who both arrived in LA as aspiring artists drawn to the vibrant rap scene. After nearly twenty years of friendship and occasional collaborations, fate brought them together at a pivotal moment. Mike, processing the end of a tumultuous relationship and seeking creative catharsis after a string of multi-producer projects, found the perfect creative partner in Kenny, who was ready to build something substantial after acclaimed collaborations across genres.

Open Mike Eagle explains Kenny's desire to move beyond single-beat contributions: "In recent years, Kenny made it very clear that he wasn’t trying to keep having one or two beats on my projects; he wanted to build something." This shared vision culminated in DOOMED!, an extraordinary body of work that captures the raw emotion and unique artistic chemistry of its creators.
