Françoise Blanchard, Marina Pierro, and Mike Marshall star in director Jean Rollin’s gory classic, The Living Dead Girl (La Morte vivante). A spillage of toxic waste causes Catherine (Blanchard) to rise from the dead with an insatiable taste for blood. Returning to her family home, she is re-acquainted with her childhood friend, Hélène (Pierro), who tries to understand Catherine’s predicament and becomes her accomplice, with tragic consequences. Co-written by Jacques Ralf and featuring a haunting score by Philippe D’Aram, this is a dark and disturbing fantastique fairy tale.
