John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter, & Daniel Davies - Cathedral [audioCD]

Experience Cathedral, the thrilling new album and terrifying graphic novel from director and musician John Carpenter, based on a dream he had in 2024. This Pop/Film Music release is uniquely designed as the soundtrack to the accompanying graphic novel, with each track corresponding to a specific section of the book, creating a fully interactive experience when combined with the liner notes.

The music on Cathedral retains the eerie atmosphere and sinister propulsion of Carpenter's epochal film scores like Halloween and The Fog, but presents a much heavier, riff-driven enterprise. Carpenter emphasizes that music is paramount to creating fear, and this album is intended to make listeners imagine they are watching a movie.

• Soundtrack created specifically to score John Carpenter's first original graphic novel.
• Features dramatic atmosphere and frenetic pacing reminiscent of classic heavy metal records.
• Liner notes include prompts for each track, enhancing interactivity with the graphic novel.
• Showcases soaring, snaky guitars from Daniel Davies on tracks like “Primeval” and “Lord of the Underground.”
• John Carpenter and Cody Carpenter’s synths lead on tracks such as “Desolation in the Underworld” and “Death of the Mapmaker.”
