Held By Trees - Hinterland [CD]

Hinterland is the second full-length album from Held By Trees, presented on CD. It contains eight instrumentals blending ambient music with elements of jazz and post-rock.

Following the 2022 debut Solace, the album explores ambiguous spaces and the margins of both landscape and inner life. Its sound draws on the later work of Mark Hollis with Talk Talk and as a solo artist.

Charlie Hollis plays piano on four tracks, alongside returning Talk Talk and Hollis collaborators including Robbie McIntosh, Laurence Pendrous, Andy Panayi, Martin Ditcham and Simon Edwards. Additional contributors include musicians from Supergrass, Primal Scream, Slowdive, Swans and Wire.
