Experience a pivotal moment in rock history with this definitive live recording of Pink Floyd from their 1975 Wish You Were Here Tour. This 2CD set captures the band during their rapid ascent, following the monumental success of 'The Dark Side of the Moon,' as they transitioned into one of the biggest rock groups globally, performing in arenas and stadiums.
Historical ContextThe Los Angeles Sports Arena shows were highly anticipated, with the entire four-night run selling out instantly, breaking box office records. This recording captures the penultimate concert from that residency. At this time, Pink Floyd was in a period of creative transition, developing new material live on stage, including early versions of songs that would become 'Sheep' and 'Dogs' from the upcoming 'Animals' album.
The Source RecordingThe foundation of this release is a tape created by the late bootlegger Mike 'Mike the Mic' Millard, renowned for the surprisingly clear sound quality of his 1970s Los Angeles concert recordings. This performance remained unreleased and unheard by the general public until now, meticulously restored and remastered by Steven Wilson.
Key Features/BenefitsThis release contains 2 audio CDs featuring the complete concert recording.
SpecificationsDon't miss this essential, definitive document of Pink Floyd at the peak of their stadium-filling power, featuring rare early takes of future classics.
