Description
Everything But The Girl - Temperamental [Deluxe CD]
Experience the critically acclaimed ninth studio album from the iconic UK duo Everything But The Girl, 'Temperamental', now available as a comprehensive 23-track deluxe CD reissue. Originally released in 1999, this edition expands on the million-selling predecessor 'Walking Wounded' by including additional remixes and previously unreleased tracks, offering a deeper dive into the album that sold over 500,000 copies worldwide.
'Temperamental' masterfully fuses modern electronica with heartfelt pop songwriting, featuring the Billboard Dance Chart #1 single 'Five Fathoms'. The album was largely recorded in the duo's north London home studio during the summer of 1998, with notable collaborations including drum 'n' bass producer J Majik on 'Blame' and deep house producers Deep Dish on 'The Future of the Future'. Despite personal challenges, including the birth of twins, Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt crafted an album that captures the complex interplay between domestic life and the vibrant club scene, with lyrics exploring the tension between inner and outer worlds.
Acclaimed by critics, 'Temperamental' was hailed as 'Triumphant after-hours club pop' by Spin and 'Wide-eyed and wondrous' by Time Out. A 2019 retrospective by The Quietus even described it as potentially 'the most emotionally complex dance long-player of all time'. This reissue features mastering by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios and includes original artwork reimagined by John Gilsenan, complete with full lyrics, credits, and photographs.
Key Features:
- Deluxe 23-track CD reissue of Everything But The Girl's ninth studio album.
