Description
Ballads is a John Coltrane Quartet album on 180-gram virgin vinyl, for listeners drawn to Coltrane’s expressive ballad playing. This limited edition includes four bonus tracks and an essay by jazz writer Brian Morton.
Recorded in 1959, the session shows a more lyrical side of Coltrane, whose personal sound and long, complex improvisations helped open the way to free jazz. Ballads became a classic among Coltrane fans and jazz listeners more broadly.
The release presents the complete album alongside four bonus tracks on 180-gram virgin vinyl.
