New liner notes by Classic Rock's Geoff Barton reveal the challenges faced during a turbulent era in the music industry, when Deep Purple were without a label or safety net. The chemistry captured during this period defined their 18th studio album. Now, newly mixed under Roger Glover's supervision, analogue mastered at renowned Chameleon Studios in Hamburg, and presented with bold new artwork, "Rapture of the Deep" finally shines with clarity and color.

Splendidly politically incorrect by today’s standards but a bit of fun. Set in Nigeria but I suspect filmed in East a Africa - the fever trees in the wildlife scenes give it away
