Directed by Tobe Hooper (of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre fame), Lifeforce is based on Colin Wilson's 1976 novel, The Space Vampires, detailing an encounter with intergalactic vampires in London. Mancini delivered a score that is both bombastic and ambient, employing the London Symphony Orchestra for this chilling musical accompaniment.
