Description
Janus’s Gravedigger (Hybrid) is a CD for listeners interested in the band’s boundary-pushing Krautrock. It revisits the band’s 1972 album, reshaping its original recordings to bring out the raw energy of their music.
Janus stood apart from the acts sharing its label roster, including Pink Floyd, Barclay James Harvest, ELO and Deep Purple. The original studio album captured the spirit of its era, but not the power and chaos of the band’s live sound.
In 2024, guitarist Colin Orr used the original analogue tapes as the foundation for a reinvention of Gravedigger, stripping back and rebuilding parts of the tracks. The project also reimagines other Janus songs, with Orr’s daughters contributing vocals and connecting the band’s music across generations.
