Description

Negro Swan is the fourth album by English musician Devonte Hynes, recording as Blood Orange, presented on CD. Written and produced by Hynes, it explores Black depression, queer and people-of-colour anxieties, childhood and trauma, with hope as an underlying theme.

Hynes is a producer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and vocalist. Before Blood Orange, he played in UK punk band Test Icicles and released two orchestral acoustic pop albums as Lightspeed Champion.

Following the critically acclaimed Freetown Sound, Negro Swan continues Hynes’s personal songwriting, reflecting on Black life in America and the ways people find light through difficult experiences.
