La Gioiosa is one of Italy's leading Prosecco, sparkling and still wine producers. Based in Treviso in the heart of 'Prosecco country', La Gioiosa has consistently won awards across the globe and its quality wines are enjoyed my many. The winemaker freezes the Prosecco must prior to fermentation to ensure maximum freshness upon bottling. Its name pays tribute to the old definition of the province of Treviso, Marca Gioiosa et amorosa (Joyous and Amorous March) underlining the sociable lifestyle of its inhabitants. The production area extends in the province of Treviso including the hills of morainic origin over the plain with medium textured soils of alluvial origin.

It inspired the Moretti Polegatto family when they needed a name for their Prosecco business. They've been making Prosecco for three generations and wanted a name that tied them to the land which had given them so much. 'Gioiosa' - 'joyful' was the perfect fit. Not least because it describes these bubbles. Fresh. Fruity. They'll definitely provoke a joyous reaction in you. This is full of classic Prosecco flavour. Think white blossom, pear and peachy stone fruit. It's a delicious aperitif or party wine - and perfect with canapés.

Until very recently, producers weren't allowed to label rosé fizz as 'Prosecco' - even if it was made inside the region and to the same high standards as the typical white bubbles. But in the past couple of months, labelling laws have finally changed - and we're thrilled to be stocking this, one of the first rosé Proseccos to hit UK. Dry. Fresh. Zesty. It's delicately red-fruity - think redcurrants and raspberries - with a lovely floral quality. It's seriously moreish, and absolutely perfect to share over a raspberry soufflé.
