Product Description

Splash sunshine into your plate with our golden flaxseed oil. Cold-pressed and unrefined, it is an excellent source of polyunsaturated fats. We use a special press to protect our flaxseed oil from oxygen and light, and once bottled the oils are stored in a cool and dark area. Our careful pressing and bottling method preserves the nutritional wealth and natural flavour. Drizzle liberally over salad greens, use as a base in homemade houmous, add flavour to stews or spoon into nut butters for a more spreadable texture.

Not suitable for frying or cooking.

Delicious Recipes

Method:

1. Combine the tahini and lemon juice together in a food processor to make them ultra smooth and creamy.

2. Add the flax seed oil, parsley, spinach, chives, chopped garlic and salt to the whipped tahini and lemon juice mixture. Process for about 1 minute.

3. Add half of the chickpeas to the food processor and process for 1 minute. Scrape down the bowl, then add the remaining chickpeas and process until the houmous is thick and quite smooth.

4. Pour the houmous into a small serving bowl. Drizzle with flax seed oil and sprinkle with additional chopped herbs and some finely chopped fresh chilli.

5. Store houmous in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to one week.

Green Goddess Houmous

Ingredients:

3 heaped tbsp Biona Organic Tahini

4 tbsp fresh lemon juice

2 tbsp Biona Organic Flax Seed Oil

15g roughly chopped, loosely packed fresh parsley

60g roughly chopped spinach

2 to 3 tbsp roughly chopped chives

1 large garlic clove, roughly chopped

Pinch of salt

1 can Biona Organic Chickpeas, drained and rinsed

Garnish with fresh chilli, olive oil and chopped fresh herbs

Green Goddess Houmous

Method:

1. Put the drained tin of pulses, garlic, tahini (if using), herbs (if using) and citrus juice and zest (if using) into a food processor and blitz smooth. 2. Add the oil/beetroot/water bit by bit until you have a creamy dip. 3. Add your toppings, then serve with raw vegetables, crackers and flatbread for dipping.

Picnic Dips

Ingredients:

Summer Herbs Butter Bean Dip

1 x 400g tin Biona Organic Butter Bean

2 small cloves of garlic

1 small handful parsley, chopped

1 small handful coriander, chopped

4 tbsp Biona Organic Flax Seed Oil

Juice of 1 lemon

Top with: more herbs, olive oil

Easy Hummus:

1 x 400g tin Biona Organic Chickpeas

1 small garlic clove

1 tbsp Biona Organic White Tahini

Juice and zest of 1 lemon

4 tbsp Biona Organic Flax Seed oil

5 tbsp water

Top with: Biona Organic Flax Seed Oil

Picnic Dips

Method:

Combine all ingredients in small bowl and whisk to blend. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Mediterranean Salad Dressing:

Ingredients:

6 tbsp Biona Organic Flax Seed Oil

2 tbsp Biona organic white wine vinegar

2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

1 tbsp fresh organic lemon juice

2 garlic cloves, chopped

1 teaspoon dried basil, crumbled

1/4 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper

Pinch of dried oregano
