Norwegian innovator, trumpeter, and producer Nils Petter Molvaer presents Be Quiet, an intimate and spatial duo collaborative album rooted in jazz improvisation, electronica, and ambient textures. This collection unfolds across nine tracks, each featuring a distinct artistic partnership recorded in global cities including Bangkok, Rome, Berlin, and London.
Album Concept and Collaboration
Be Quiet is built on proximity and contrast, where diverse cultures, disciplines, and sonic identities meet Molvaer's unmistakable trumpet voice. The project involved Molvaer stepping into each collaborator's space, responding in real time to shape a body of work that remains fluid and constantly in motion. The album features collaborations with notable artists such as Imogen Heap and John Paul Jones.
Visual Companion
The music is accompanied by a documentary film directed by celebrated Norwegian filmmaker Per Manning, which captures the process, environments, and relationships behind the music, informing the project's visual world.
