My son, who just turned 5, is very smart on many things. However, he was so bored with learning his letters that he was starting to fall way behind his younger classmates. We had luck with teaching him his numbers using NumberBlocks, and he loved the AlphaBlocks cartoons which helped him learn the sounds but not the names of the letters. I wanted the each letter as separate little character toys, but we couldn’t find them anywhere in the United States. I happened upon Yachew, and I’m excited to say they arrived here in a little over a week. I opened them today and told my son I would give him the character for each letter he could name and give the correct sound. Literally two hours later, he knew all of the names of the letters and their sounds, though we had a head start on the latter. He sat in the floor agrees for an hour trying to put them together to make his name or words. After flash cards, those speak aloud toys with the letter buttons, a subscription to ABC Mouse, reading pre-K stories to him, an online tutoring program, and a Leap Frog tablet, these toys are what motivated him to FINALLY learn his letters.
