Description

G_d's Pee at State's End! is a CD album by Canadian ensemble Godspeed You! Black Emperor, for listeners drawn to expansive, experimental post-rock. It brings together two long-form pieces and two shorter works.

The album combines noisy orchestration, drones, field recordings and semi-improvised passages, with hypnotic crescendos and violin and double bass counterpoints. Its long pieces build around fiery melodies, while the shorter works offer a more elegiac contrast.

Recorded and mixed in Montreal in October 2020 at Thee Mighty Hotel2Tango, the album was produced by Jace Lasek. Illustrations are by William Schmiechen.
