Initially planning a single, they utilized studio time to record a full album, comprising five original songs and the improvised instrumental "Dance Of Thor." Deeply influenced by the organ-driven sound of Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, and Beggars Opera, Captain Marryat delivered a potent mix of progressive rock and heavy psych. The album is characterized by its thunderous Hammond organ, raw guitar solos, and strong melodic vocals.
