Description
This 286-page hardcover biography explores the life and career of Nobuo Uematsu, the composer of the original Final Fantasy games. Written by gaming journalist James Mielke, it is for readers interested in Uematsu and the history of video game music.
Drawing on conversations with Uematsu, his wife, fellow composers and industry figures, the book follows his musical inspirations and career, from childhood and early music-making to his time at Square Enix and international concert tours.
Uematsu’s scores helped push video game music beyond the medium’s early limitations. The book also features perspectives from Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi and composers Daniel Rosenfeld, Yoko Shimomura and Hitoshi Sakimoto.
